Run an audit

Last updated on October 9, 2026

An audit listens to your real traffic for a set time and checks every captured event against your tracking plan.

Launch an audit

  1. 1

Open "Audits" and click "Launch audit".

  2. 2

    "Choose tracking plan".

  3. 3

    Choose a duration: 30min, 1h, 5h or 24h.

  4. 4

Optional: "Choose page perimeter" to check some events only on a set of pages.

  5. 5

    Click "Start".

How it works

The audit does not crawl your site. It checks the events sent by your real visitors during the window. Pages that get no visit are not checked.

While it runs, click "Live" to watch events arrive in the live debugger, or "Stop" to end it early.

Read the report

Open a finished audit with "View". Each event shows "OK" or "MISSING", and each property shows its status. Filter on OK or KO, and click a property to see its errors and a valid example.

The "Error distribution" tab groups errors across audits, with their priority and number of occurrences. "Download" exports an audit as an Excel file.

Priorities

Each event and property has a priority: danger, warning, notice, info or none. The audit email takes the level of the most serious error. Errors on items with priority "none" never trigger an email.
