Detect the events your site already sends

Detect tracking plan listens to your real traffic and lists the events and properties found in your dataLayer. It is the fastest way to start a tracking plan on an existing site.
Run a detection

In the sidebar, open "Tracking plan" then "Detect tracking plan".

Click "Detect tracking plan" and choose a duration: 30min, 1h, 5h or 24h.

Click "Execute". The capture runs on the traffic of your site during that time.

Open the finished capture, select the events to keep, adjust their mapping and confirm.
What happens next
The selected events are saved in your project. They appear in the "Events related to your project" section when you generate a tracking plan.
If an event already exists, you choose to replace it with the new data or to ignore it.
a detection does not create the tracking plan itself. Run "Generate tracking plan" afterwards.
Good to know
Only one detection can run at a time on a project. The pixel must be installed, and the capture uses your hit quota.
